Are Safavieh gray rugs fashionable in 2023?
Gray is one of the most universal colors, that is likely to remain in fashion, for, like ever. And Safavieh Rugs is one of the major, best known, and most popular rug brands out there.
So, yes, the short answer is: Safavieh gray rugs are more than fashionable in 2023. And the only thing we’ll likely have to change in the above statement a year from now, is the digit ‘3’. Yes, gray rugs will be fashionable in 2024, too, and in the years to come as well.
With that said, gray rugs do not go well with all styles – in fact, they are mostly representative of the modern style interior design. Be it a light gray, and earth-tone, warm gray, or an antracit dark gray, your modern spaces will thank you for picking a gray rug.
What colors go with gray rug?
Gray rugs are extremely universal, and will match many, if not all colors. They go particularly well with earth tones, such as brown, golden, or orange.
You can also decide to play on contrast, and choose a bold, bright color (such as pink or turquoise) to complement your reserved, gray rug.
The same goes for patter: if you have a solid color, gray rug, it might be a good idea to choose a busy, bold pattern to contrast it – although use these sparingly. When it comes to bold colors or busy patters, less is, in most cases, more.
Does a gray rug open a room?
Although gray rugs can be an exquisite choice to anchor a room, they do not necessarily open it up. With that said, however, there is a multitude of shades (at least fifty), when it comes to gray.
If your aim with the gray rug is to open it up, go for the lighter colors with more white, and possibly with a hint of warmth in them. Those shades will work best in opening up spaces or rooms.
How do you style a gray rug?
Gray rugs are particularly good to tone down spaces, and go for minimalistic, modern designs. If this is what you are after, you don’t really have much to do: pick natural or white furniture, go minimalistic on wall decoration, and make sure you have plenty of natural light in the room, and whooom – your space is ready and styled.
Another option might be to play on contrast. In this case, you will want to complement your grey rug with something bright and spectacular: a bold color, a busy pattern, floral design and a variety of textures.
This, however, will have to be used in moderation. One bright spot per room should be more or less enough, or you’ll soon end up overdoing this.
Do gray rugs go with everything?
Well, if not everything, they go well with a surprisingly large amount and broad variety of things. From white sofas to wooden furniture, from leather to metal, it’s difficult to single out something that won’t go well with a gray rug.
One note of warning: it’s not just things vs. the gray rug. It’s also things vs. other things.
A gray rug sends a message of style and calm: don’t go fully against this message with a multitude and chaos of other things in the same space.
